Flair and extravagance might not be everybody's cup of tea. In day-to-day settings, that is. When it comes to once-in-a-lifetime events, surely some flair wouldn't hurt. We would even argue that it's absolutely necessary! A little bit of drama and elegance is exactly what's needed to make events memorable, and we wanted to make sure Savina and Antonius' Sangjit ceremony checked all the boxes.
Known for their exotic beauty and a symbol of royalty in some cultures, peacocks are the perfect inspiration for this occasion. Their unique feathers were highlighted throughout the entire Sangjit theme. Also inspired by the majestic birds, we chose bold and bright colors as the colour palette. From sapphire blues, emerald greens to regal purples, they all complemented each other to create a refined vibe.
Starting from the details of the day, their keepsake calligraphy made by @kuromopi featured water colour illustrations of delicate flowers and, of course, peacocks!
Completing the whole suite was the fan which was adorned with a deep blue tassel and golden trinket. Spot the peacock silhouette place cards, definitely added a nice touch!
Along with the keepsakes, we also had customised menu cards and table numbers. They were made to match both the calligraphy and the overall theme. A small detail, but we think stationery definitely play a big part for your guests' experience.
A little fun trivia, we actually used some embroidery flowers left over from the making of Savina's dress for the photo styling! For all you bride-to-be's out there planning your own engagement, this could be an inspiration to personalise your styling even more. You could switch it up with a swatch of lace from your dress or a strand of gems that matches your bejeweled dress, every little detail goes a long way!
As it is customary for couples to give out hampers for their Sangjit ceremony, the design of the packaging it comes in is not to be overlooked. Speaking again of guest experience, the hamper is a nice way to involve them into the whole theme. We opted for a hexagonal blue suede box with embroidered peacock detailing, giving it a luxurious feel. Shout out to @savory.engagementhamper for executing our vision perfectly!
Of course, the day wouldn't be complete without Savina's personal details. As her theme involves a lot of bold colours, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to style her in statement shoes. The deep purple gave a nice contrast in a sea of emerald feathers. This was our first time styling with bright coloured Manolo's and we absolutely loved how it turned out!
Wrapping up the ensemble was a matching hairband with 3D jewel flowers detail from @epajewel and a peacock feather fan to sweeten the deal.
The main attraction though, was the dress. Meticulously hand-crafted with hundreds of embroidered flowers and artificial peacock feathers, this dress by @stellalunardy was the embodiment of flair! We simply could not get over how every little detail is carried out perfectly.
All eyes were on our gorgeous bride-to-be in her full regalia. It was truly one of a kind look, carefully layered like a water colour painting. Don't you just love how picturesque she looked?
Moving on to the decoration, guests were first greeted by a pathway of laser-cut design that doubles as a welcome area. Alongside that were bird cages filled with floral patterns and a line of standing floral arrangements. The laser-cut patterns were actually a hint of the main decoration, it might be too soon to guess, but we always try to give subtle nods to the theme in every adorned area.
Closing in on the details of the Bridal Table, take a look at how the stationeries shone on top of the tableware. We could not stress enough how every little detail matters!
The moment we've all been waiting for: the main decoration. Savina actually wanted to infuse touches of Middle-Eastern culture into the decoration. We thought it would work wonderfully! As it was in line with the elegance and symbolism of the peacock that is already prominent in our theme.
Spot the Moroccan inspired lanterns strewn across the backdrop and the border pattern across the top, giving a nod to Savina's personal request.
Reminiscent of peacock feathers, lush feather-like floral arrangements were draped across the backdrop. We also made sure to emphasise many different textures of different flowers to create drama around the area.
Remember the laser-cut pattern lining the welcome area? Yes, it was a nod to our Moroccan inspired decoration! Spot the printed flooring that sported a similar pattern. Subtle, but it still made all the difference and gave a nice edge to the decoration. Speaking of printed, we also styled the backdrop to have a washed-out illusion, all in elegant blue to seamlessly blend with the florals.
Finally, the last component that made up Savina and Antonius' memorable engagement day, the cakes. Both were made as edible replicas of the couple's attire. Look how cute and delicate all the details are, from the tiny 3D fondant flowers, to the real peacock feathers, and the mini emerald brooch? Love, love, love!
Thank you Savina and Antonius for trusting us! We were so thrilled to be able to help you guys achieve the flair and elegance that you wanted on your engagement day. We hope it was just as memorable for you as it was for us🤍
