Whimsical Pops for Steven & Catherin's Destination Wedding

When we first heard their love story, we could only sigh in admiration. Catherin was on a business trip to Cirebon City when she met Steven, while buying electronics for her home, We can only say that the rest is history!

With the groom's family majority living in Cirebon, we had the chance to style our first ever wedding in Cirebon, and definitely one we couldn't forget, with the end result just captivating all of our hearts..

A little background about our couple, there were definitely one of the most easy going pairs, ready to explore new ideas. Adopting the theme Whimsical Pops to Cirebon's Aston Hotel, watch how we infused lush nature themes into S&C's stunning wedding decor.

Before we continue, let’s start their wedding series with a dedicated section for their wedding stationery. This bespoke calligraphy suite by The Other Day featured pops of their colour palette, alongside a beautiful illustration of the venue and decor.

We opted for a two toned vow book in their respective colours to showcase the couple’s different personalities. Shoutout to The Other Day , who splendidly realised our vision! Showing you guys some more pretty calligraphy stationery!

Our couple also printed beautiful wedding invitations for their guests, from the one and only Papeworks. We absolutely loved how they developed this one of a kind invitation for our couple! The details of the invites were impeccable, with gold foiling, blind embossing elements. Exactly the vibe we were going for, playful, and modern.

With various circular shapes, this modern invitation was adorned with their lively colour palette. Experimenting with pops of blues and yellows while keeping the other colours muted, and together with the unique envelope opening, we’re sure everyone who received this invitation had a unique experience prior to the couple’s wedding!

Moving on to the details of her big day, her shoes and hairpieces! You can never go wrong with a pair of red soles from Christian Louboutin! Our bride chose this neutral but classic heels to wear walking down the aisle. Completed with her accessories from Hummingbird Road, she surely was the most beautiful woman of the day!

To make sure everything was in line, we had a hand in picking out her souvenirs! Featuring a beautiful hard box with gold foil details, lies a beautiful and functional room diffuser for their beloved guests. Kudos to Silver Joy Gift for creating such a detailed souvenir and packaging for S&C’s big day!

We get our very first glimpse of the bride, strikingly beautiful in a custom tulle robe by Felicia Ng. Adorned with polka dot details, and filled with fluffy layers of tulle, this one a kind piece was ethereal, and angel like.

Within the long halls of Aston Cirebon, stood our gorgeous bride with her bespoke wedding dress, also by Felicia Ng. This wedding dress’s unique characteristic came from combining two looks into one, a deep V neck and a translucent halter neck cover up for a more reserved look.

Not to mention, the entire dress was fully beaded in sequins to give it an extra shine whenever she walks down!

Moments before they head for their Holy Matrimony, spot the happy couple, carrying the bridal bouquet from Chloe Florist. Fun fact! The bouquets were hand carried all the way from Bandung! With a soft blush pink hue, and adorned with white fillers, this bouquet was romantic, classy and befitting for their morning ceremony..

One of our many firsts, styling a Blessing Ceremony in a 500 year old temple! This sacred place was already vibrant in red, so we chose to highlight the reds with softer hues, mainly with pinks and whites.

Together with Valentine Decoration, this blush pink aisle stood out and welcomed the couple for their Holy Matrimony✨💓

Moving on to part two of the decoration, the reception area! The dinner reception was held in Hotel Aston Cirebon's outdoor area. Honestly the venue was a little bit challenging because it was divided into many sections...

However, after brainstorming together with Valentine Decor, we came up with this layout unique to Steven & Cath's wedding.

For the guest's first impression, we used acrylic and curved elements to create a welcome area. Bringing bright red acrylics and mirrors in a curved structure as a focal point, and filled lush pastel flowers, we made a strong but not overpowering area in a small garden space.

On the edge of the welcome area, lies a very special area for the our couple. All the illustrations for S&C’s wedding were hand painted scenery with a watercolour effect, showcasing Catherin’s love for nature’s abundant beauty.

This photo gallery backdrop was a custom drawing, filled with heaps of flowers, and an invisible hanging structure to display their pre wedding pictures!

Acting also as a mini photo spot, this was definitely a beautiful foyer to welcome the guests.

A little backstory about the venue, Aston Cirebon has a beautiful lush garden and a stunning gazebo. The picture above shows the entrance gate of the couple, and fun fact, behind the entrance partition was a children zoo, and our couple sat there while waiting for the reception to start! Amazing dedication from our couple to surprise their guests🤩

Along the aisle, we installed a wide melamine flooring for a cleaner vibe, and completed the look with two floral arches installation completely filled with flowers for the lush look..

Not to mention, the entrance partition was hand painted to achieve that abstract view we love! Imagine seeing this dreamy view from the bridal table.

Huge thanks to the whole team at Valentine Decor for being so accommodative to our requests!

Directly opposite the entrance partition, stands the circular gazebo as the focal point of the decoration. Overlooking the entire garden with this concept of whimsical woodlands, the backdrop was placed inside the gazebo, creating an intimate decoration just for two. The inspiration for the illustrations comes from the bride’s love for New Zealand’s scenery, so we decided to create this backdrop of large forest greens mixed with blues.

In the middle of the backdrop, you’ll spot the couple’s bridal table, filled a variety of flowers including tulips, anthuriums, draping orchids, and roses. Indeed it seems like they’re filled with florals all around😍

To celebrate Cath’s love for ice cream, we specially designed and installed this pop up booth serving, you guessed it, ice cream!

This dainty setup featured a neon sign with translucent umbrella, and spruced up with flowers and signs, mimicking the look you see on a traditional ice cream stall.

We saw how the guests loved the additional dessert served, and how the stall worked its charm that night ❤️.

Three words: aesthetically beautiful, AND functional! 😆

Bringing the focus to the guest tables, we chose to play with a more muted palette here. Choosing tablecloths in a dreamy shade of baby blue, and completed with white napoleon chairs, we loved how charming this table setup was!

Another major element was the centrepieces used in each tables. Mixing arrangements of varying heights helps to build up dimension. The flowers, the candles, swoon worthy!

Due to the weather being unpredictable during these times, we urged the couple to install a clear tent above the guest area. You can see that within the structures of the tent, the decor team installed fabric drapery and fairy lights, and that really makes a different in ambience in the evening!

When the evening came, we loved how the entire decor lit up with the hanging fairy lights, changing the ambience to a whole new look. Mysterious and elegant, such a beautiful setting for this outdoor wedding.

Capturing the entire moments were the Indigo Six Photo Works team, who splendidly took all the moments and decor ambience🤍

Thank you Steven & Catherin for trusting us, we loved working on your wedding and wish you both a lifetime of happiness to come!
